Beta Homes
Beta Homes is one part of the Arc’s residential program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It consists of two, 10-person homes that provide 24/7 staff supervision. These homes not only provide a safe and secure environment, but promote individual growth and development leading to a healthy, well-balanced and dynamic lifestyle. Most of the individuals in this program work at Sunshine Industries or are involved in the Arc’s Community Participation Program.
The Beta Homes are funded under a Grant Contract with the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
Independent Living Program (ILP)
The Independent Living Program assists individuals who are capable of living somewhat independent lives but still require some additional supports. While there is no supervision or checks overnight and no supervision or checks of any kind on the weekends, residents do have access to staff phone numbers in case of an emergency. Supports provided during the weekday may include money management, medical appointments, food shopping, cooking, laundry, and leisure. Many of the individuals living in this program work in the community.
